WhatsMyESG (“WME”) is an information product. The reports, scores, narratives, and reference materials we generate (collectively, the “Output”) are produced for general informational purposes only. Read this page in full before relying on any Output for a decision.
1. Not Professional Advice
Output from WME is not:
- Investment advice. Output is not a recommendation to buy, hold, or sell any security, fund, or other instrument. Consult a licensed investment adviser or fiduciary before making investment decisions.
- Legal advice. Output is not a legal opinion. It does not establish, refute, or replace any legal duty. Consult qualified legal counsel for legal questions.
- Financial, tax, or accounting advice. Output is not a substitute for advice from a licensed CPA, CFP, or other financial professional.
- Regulatory-compliance certification.Output is not a Phase I or Phase II Environmental Site Assessment, an ASTM E1527-21 deliverable, an SEC filing, an EPA submission, an audit, an attestation, or a Verified Sustainability Report. If you need a regulatory deliverable, engage a qualified third-party provider.
- Insurance underwriting input. Output is not designed for, and should not be used as, the sole or material basis for an underwriting decision.
- Hiring or credit decision input.Output is not a consumer report under the U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.). Do not use Output to make decisions about consumer credit, employment, insurance, or tenancy.
2. Best-Effort Interpretation, Not Verdict
Scores reflect our interpretation of publicly available data and recognized ESG frameworks at the time of report generation. Our scoring engine is described in our Methodology. Scores are signals, not verdicts. Reasonable analysts examining the same source data may reach different conclusions.
Output frequently relies on third-party data we do not control, including data published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, state regulators, voluntary disclosure programs, and corporate registries. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any third-party data we ingest. If a source publisher corrects, retracts, redacts, or restates underlying data, our Output will reflect what we observe at the time of the next refresh, and prior outputs will not be retroactively recalled.
3. No Defamation Toward Scored Entities
Output references real entities (companies, addresses, brands). Our scores are derived from publicly available data and the published frameworks referenced in our Methodology. Scores are statements of opinion based on disclosed methodology, not statements of provable fact about any entity’s conduct, financial health, or legal status. Where Output references an enforcement action, an inspection finding, or a violation, we rely on the regulator’s public record as published; we do not independently adjudicate underlying conduct.
If you are an entity scored by WME and believe a specific data point is materially inaccurate or has been superseded by a regulator’s correction, contact info@whatsmyesg.com with the source citation. We will review and, where supported by the underlying source, refresh the Output in our next scheduled run.
4. Methodology Evolves
Our scoring methodology is versioned (currently v1.0 — see Methodology) and will evolve as public frameworks evolve, as new data sources become available, and as we improve our models. The score for the same entity may change between runs. We do not guarantee continuity of any particular score across methodology versions.
5. No Warranty
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUTPUT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.
6. Your Responsibility
You assume all risk of decisions you make using Output. Before you act on Output, independently verify the underlying data through the original source, consult a qualified professional appropriate to your decision, and apply your own judgment. We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or claim arising from reliance on Output. Liability for paid subscribers is further limited under our Terms of Service.
7. Forward-Looking Statements
Where Output includes a forward-looking element — for example, a trajectory implied by a trend or a projection from disclosed targets — that element is inherently uncertain and depends on future events that may not occur. No forward-looking statement in Output should be read as a guarantee, prediction, or assurance.
8. Trademarks & Third-Party Names
References to entities, regulators, and frameworks are made for identification and informational purposes only. All trademarks and service marks are the property of their respective owners. Reference does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship.
WME’s Output references the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board) standards, the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) IFRS S1 & S2 standards, and the CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) questionnaires for taxonomy, indicator selection, and reporting scope only. Each framework is a property of its respective organization (Global Reporting Initiative; the IFRS Foundation, which administers SASB and ISSB; the TCFD originally established by the Financial Stability Board with its recommendations now embedded within ISSB IFRS S2; and the CDP). WME is not affiliated with, endorsed by, certified by, audited by, or licensed by any of these organizations. See Methodology § 3 for how each framework is referenced in our scoring.
